Royal Mail Group today announced the appointment of Moya Greene as Chief Executive.

Greene,who is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Canada Post Corporation,will take up the post in the middle of July.

Royal Mail profits over £400m

Royal Mail have announced group profits of £404m,a rise of 26% on the previous year.

Royal Mail Letters’ operating profit has more than doubled to £121 million despite an overall revenue fall of £143 million.

Whatever …king this deal is – it is not the King of Deals that it is being presented as by RM, the CWU and the media that loves to say how fantastic we are in one breath and what a shower of lazy bastards we are in the next one.

The CWU position seems to me to be that the most important aims of the industrial dispute have been achieved and they are very nearly right in this.
